Solmet Technologies Announces Recent Promotions Amid Business Growth
Canton, OH (July 30, 2018) —Solmet Technologies, a local manufacturer of commercial open-die steel forgings, has promoted three members within its leadership team. Spurred by steady growth over the past few years, these updates help to align the company for continued expansion in 2018 and beyond.
Throughout this period of success and transition, Solmet Technologies founder, Joe Halter has taken on the senior position of chairman. He will maintain a strong presence at the helm of the company as his son, Matt Halter, takes over day-to-day business operations in the role of president.
Controller, Kyle Sheposh, has also been promoted to the position of chief financial officer. As CFO, Sheposh will make strategic decisions to ensure the company is on solid financial footing as it moves toward future growth.
The timing of these promotions corresponds with exciting business opportunities for the Northeast Ohio-based manufacturer. More than 35 years ago, Solmet Technologies got its start in metallurgical testing and open-die forging. In recent years, the company has grown to serve new markets with additional services, including large-part machining, sample preparation and more.
Not only does this transition welcome in a new era for the family business, it represents the current strength of the forging industry as a whole. Solmet Technologies has built its name on being a trusted industrial supplier and is positioned to continue that legacy for years to come.

The expansion will create $730,000 in additional annual payroll, according to an agreement between the company and the commissioners.
